Contemporary, elegant and high-quality - our control panels made of PMMA or PC meet the highest demands and offer a wide range of possible applications.

More and more user interfaces with touch function are being used in the household appliance industry. With our modern and future-oriented production, we at HURST+SCHRÖDER have set the course to supply our customers with control panels made of high-quality plastic.

There is a wide range of applications for the new touch surfaces: Control panels made of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) or polycarbonate (PC) are the ideal solution in all areas where operation and display need to be modern, simple and attractive.

Whether for cookers, ovens, hobs, coffee machines, dishwashers or other appliances, there are virtually no limits to the design. Multiple manufacturing options often result in economic advantages over glass applications. The functional components are used in modern household appliances all over the world.

Without exception, our PMMA and PC control panels are manufactured on ARBURG injection molding machines. Due to the highly sensitive plastic raw material PMMA and the further processing stages, we produce in a clean room. The closed system for material feed and the highly efficient material dedusting system ensure optimum molded part quality.

Step by step to a modern control panel

  • Injection molding in the clean room to avoid dust generation
  • Laser cutting and/or milling
  • Customised and individual printing in the clean room using a UV screen printing system and classic pad printing
  • 100% print image control

  • Assembly technology for applying adhesive systems and conductive films with touch sensors

In Mould Decoration (IMD) / In Mould Labelling (IML)

Hinter der Technologie In-Mould Decoration (IMD) verbirgt sich eine spezielle Form der Gestaltung von Kunststoffbauteilen mit einer z.T. mehrfarbigen und abriebfesten Beschichtung, die grafisch aber auch fotorealistisch bedruckt werden können.

Hierbei wird wird ein einzelner verzierter Folienträger in ein Spritzgusswerkzeug eingelegt und mit Kunststoffmasse hinterspritzt.

Die heute in ihrer Anwendung häufigste Form der Verzierung sind dünne Folien bzw. Folienträger, die mit einem Spritzgrundträger verbunden werden. Dieses Verfahren wird als In-Mould-Labeling (IML) bezeichnet.

Der Folienträger mit dem zu übertragenden Motiv oder Design wird positionsgerecht in einer der Spritzgusshälften positioniert. Sobald die Kunststoffschmelze in die Kavität eintritt verbindet sich das Motiv bzw. das Design mit der Oberfläche des Spritzgrundträgers. Beim Öffnen der Form löst sich die Folie von der Verbindung Motiv o. Design / Spritzgrundträger und kann entnommen werden.

In unser Druckerei können wir verschiedene Symboliken in einem Ein - oder Mehrfarbendruck auf die Folienträger aufbringen.

Functional Foil Bonding (FFB) combines surface design and sensor functionality in one single component. Functional elements can be seamlessly integrated into a decor of your choice and also into three-dimensional part geometries.

In a clean room atmosphere, we combine the plastic component manufactured by us with a sensor foil that is designed according to your requirements.

Control panels made of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and displays made of polycarbonate (PC ) stand out both visually and haptically. Equip your devices with printed molded plastic parts and simplify their operability.

We manufacture the control elements from PMMA or PC in encapsulated production islands. Laser processing and printing with UV and stove enamels also take place within closed areas.
As additional processing steps, we offer you the following technologies to implement your product ideas:

  • Hot stamping
  • Ultrasonic welding of various components
  • Assembly of modules made of different materials and components

In automated processes, we use camera-supported monitoring to ensure the quality you require.
